Bénédicte Thoraval (b. Brest, France) lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her work explores resilience form nonhuman perspectives. Thoraval’s work has been shown in exhibitions throughout Europe and New York. In 2018, her work as curator for the artist-run space Metaxu, helped earn a grant by the CNAP (Centre National des Arts Plastiques), the highest recognition for experimental curatorial practices in France. Her work is held in private and public collections, including those of the DRAC PACA and Franklin Furnace Archive. Her work has been shown in the solo exhibition Spring Fever at Desert Island Comics (2019, Brooklyn) and in the group exhibitions Prendre la nature sur le fait, hommage à Michel Darluc at Villa Théo (2022, le Lavandou, France) and The Yellow Wallpaper at Attrape Couleurs (2019, Lyon, France), among others.
