A note on the work: This painting is a sketch of the poet Robert Wood Lynn and his work (Mothman Apologia), serving as a way of filtering through ideas for a new body of work about poets and their poems. Other pieces from this body of work, including paintings of poets Jameson Fitzpatrick (Pricks in the Tapestry), Courtney Bush (I Love Information), and Tawanda Mulalu (Please make me pretty I don’t want to die), will be up in a 3-person show with Steve Turner Gallery at 507 W. 27th Street in NYC opening June 8.
