Kate Liebman is a visual artist and writer who lives and works in New York. Her studio practice, which includes painting, drawing, video, and writing, is rooted in printmaking. She attends to the passage of time, time as recorded in history and art history, grief, loss, the overlap and interplay between fact and fiction, and how the tension between remembering and forgetting impacts these subjects. Her work employs beauty as a way to attract the viewer and encourage engagement. She graduated from Columbia University with her MFA in 2019, and from Yale College with a BA in the Humanities in 2013. Recent exhibitions include Invitations to Tremble at Management Gallery (New York, 2023), Test Flights at the Lower East Side Print Shop (2023, New York), and Baitball 02 at Palazzo San Giuseppe (Polignano a Mare, Italy, 2022).
