Claude Ponti is one of France’s most celebrated children’s writers and illustrators. His works create captivating fictional universes through wordplay and illustrations of incredible detail and beauty. He has won numerous awards, including the 2006 Prix Sorcières Spécial for his lifetime achievement. This rare drawing depicts Ponti’s beloved Twims. Betsy Bird has written of the Twims in My Valley: “The characters themselves, the Twims, are simply drawn. With their round little bellies and generally circular features they stand in contrast to the sweeping vistas Ponti has placed around them. The landscapes in My Valley are nothing short of breathtaking.”
