Roc​ío Araya is a Spanish author of picture books currently living in France. Her artistic practice involves paintings, collages, and drawings.​ She explores the universe of childhood, as a place of connection with the most authentic part of ourselves.​ Roc​ío enjoys giving illustration and creativity workshops for children and adults and also performs plays with puppet​s. She is a 2024 Maurice Sendak Fellow, and her picture book Head in the Clouds (translated by Sarah Moses) is coming out with Elsewhere Editions in fall 2024.
